GENERAL DESCRIPTION The CES Model 287 is a 3 mode controller with independent gain, rate and reset functions with process, set point, and output indicators. The controller has an automatic compensated offset (reset) with adjustable rate circuit which minimizes process error. During proportional plus reset control, the circuit senses the approach of the process signal to the set point and starts corrective action, thereby eliminating process signal overshoot. The rate control is effective over the entire range.

The CES 287 Controller is based on the same proven technology as the CES 270 controller With the addition of triple displays. This allows the user to monitor the process, setpoint and output while the controller is operational. The controller section of the 287 was designed for the special requirements of low pressure and flow application and other fast action processes.

The 287 Controller can be operated either in the Automatic Control Mode or the Output can be set to any desired point in the Manual Mode. To increase flexibility of the unit the user can select either local or remote setpoint control as well as Direct or Indirect action. The unit also has a built in hold circuit that can be used to prevent the unit from hunting during normal disturbances in the process. An example would be while the doors are being opened and closed during automotive paint booth applications.

The 287 can be operated as a stand alone controller,cascaded or controlled from a remote source such as a computer. The input and output 4-20 mA loops are sourced by the 287 eliminating the need for external power supplies.
