CES 455 Purge Master
FEATURES
Selectable Pulse Purge Method
Multilayer Protection
Modular Design
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The CES 455 Purge Master is a flow element purge control
system and draft range pressure transmitter combination that
was designed for use in measurement applications involving
particulate-laden air or gas. The system provides periodic
removal of dirt which may accumulate in the element pressure
sensing traverses and instrument connecting tubes utilizing
a high volume, high pressure air purge
Each System is self contained and dedicated to a single
flow element. The frequency and duration of the purge
function is field adjustable. The CES 455 consists of a CES
455 Sequence Controller, a Ces 467MP Auto Zero Transmitter,
and 3 flow control valves. Each 455 Purge Master is mounted
in a steel NEMA enclosure for ease of installation and
protection.
The CES 455 features a pulse purge method that provides
up to 15 bursts of air to help dislodge any particles and
moisture, while conserving shop air. The duty cycle of the
pulse and the number of pulses are user selectable as needed
to meet purge requirements.
The CES 455 Purge Master Sequence Controller controls
the operating sequence and event scheduling. Time and
frequency of daily purge cycles are user selectable. Up to
48 cycles can be programmed to occur during that 24 hour
period.
For testing purposes, the 455 Purge Sequence Controller
also features a front panel mounted switch that allows the
user to start a purge cycle manually. This allows
technicians to insure the purge cycle is operating, or to
actually purge the system should the need arise.
A remote purge is possible with the standard CES 455
Purge Maser. Allowing for interface with existing PLC’s.
Timing is then controlled by the PLC entirely or it is used
as a secondary purge control.
The Purge Master provides multilayer protection for the
transmitter. First, the transmitter contains a 3 way valve
that is energized during an Autozero cycle and during purge.
Second, the selection valves connect the flow element to
either the high pressure supply or to the transmitter. These
valves also vent both sides of the transmitter during a purge
cycle. The purge valve controls the purge air supply,
providing a third level of protection. Finally, by
electronically controlling the valves sequence of
energizing, the transmitter is prevented from seeing the high
pressure purge air should the flow element become completely
blocked
The Purge Master's modular design makes it easily customized
to suit your process requirements. Options including temperature compensation, mass flow compensation,
remote starting purge cycles, displays, a vlave only package where you provide the timing and control
of the pugre, all make the CES 455 flexible enough to meet any demands.
