Transducer Types and Their Characteristics
CES uses a variety of different transducers in our transmitters. Each transducer
type have their advantages and disadvantages. We have selected the most
appropriate type for each family in the CES line. These types include : Variable
Reluctance, Variable Capacitive, and Hot Wire.
Variable Capacitive Transducers are more cost effective. The transducers we
use feature a ceramic diaphragm insuring long term stability and drift. CES’s
Variable Capacitive transmitter were designed for applications when cost is a
concern, while still maintaining reliable results.
Variable Reluctance Transducer are the “cream of the crop”. They generally offer
higher accuracy and superior long term performance. They are also more
expensive. These features make the Variable Reluctance transducer an
excellent choice when performance is the utmost concern. Auto zero electronics
further ensure laboratory quality results in real world applications.
Ultralow Draft Range Transmitters are one of the latest additions to the CES line
of transmitters. They were developed to measure extremely low flows and
pressures. Pressures as low as .001" water and flows as low as 150 FPM full
scale are achievable with these transmitters.
Hot Wire type transducers offer the lowest cost for low flow applications. They
offer good results when used in clean dry applications when no turbulence is
present.
With our full line of Draft Range transmitters, CES can assist you in obtaining the
most cost effective results for your applications. Whether your concerns are,
quality, stability, repeatability, cost or a combination, CES is Your Draft Range
